What is A1 S3 C6-7?

The House has the Constitutional authority to impeach the president, judges or executive officials. Then the Senate has the authority to hear and try these cases. It is important that the Senate when assuming this judicial responsibility be placed under “oath or affirmation” to be honest. When it is the president who is being tried, the judge will be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who is required to preside over the case. To be considered guilty a supermajority of two-thirds is required of the members of the Senate in attendance. This high bar is very important to protect our public servants from being targeted by what George Washington termed in his Farewell Address as “the spirit of party.” 

A guilty verdict would remove the official from office and he would then be disqualified to run for any public office in the future.

The offender could then be charged, tried and punished in a civil court.

O Father, how far we have fallen from the Heritage that You gave us. We cry out to You and find ourselves “appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions” to return to the original intent of America’s Constitution. “And for the support of the Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” So, help us Almighty God. Amen.
