Teaching His Story

What the Bible Says

What the Bible Says

The Church must rise up in this hour to make disciples and Build God’s kingdom through Servant Leadership, as Jesus taught us. This is a quote from Biblical Worldview teacher, Marshal Foster concerning John Calvin, when Calvin was “in exile in Geneva, surrounded by pagan kings, wars, and a corrupt Roman church, said these optimistic words about the spread of God’s Word”

“Whatever resistance we see today offered by almost all the world to the progress of the truth, we must not doubt that our Lord will come at last to break through all the undertakings of men and make a passage for His Word. Let us hope boldly, then, more than we can understand; He will still surpass our opinion and our hope.” ~ John Calvin

Marshall Foster further admonishes us, May we be inspired from His Word, as our spiritual forbears were, to be fearlessly optimistic about the power of His Gospel and the furtherance of His Kingdom on earth.”

These quotes are taken from Marshall Foster’s Foreword in the 1599 Patriot Geneva Bible.  The next scripture is from this same version. Look at these notes! (This is why I love the Geneva Bible to study, it reads like the King James Bible, but the notes are priceless. You can see why King James had his scholars change the notes when he published the KJV.)

[a]For the [b]word of God is [c]lively, and mighty in operation, and sharper than any two edged sword, and entereth through, even unto the dividing asunder of the [d]soul and the [e]spirit, and of the joints, and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts, and the intents of the heart.  ~ Hebrews 4:12, 1599 Geneva Bible

Footnotes

  1. Hebrews 4:12 An amplification taken from the nature of the word of God, the power whereof is such, that it entereth even to the deepest and most inward and secret parts of the heart, wounding them deadly that are stubborn, and plainly quickening the believers.
  2. Hebrews 4:12 The doctrine of God which is preached both in the Law and in the Gospel.
  3. Hebrews 4:12 He calleth the word of God lively by reason of the effects it worketh in them, to whom it is preached.
  4. Hebrews 4:12 He calleth that the soul, which hath the affections resident in it.
  5. Hebrews 4:12 By the spirit he meaneth that nobelest part which is called the mind.

We can see clearly why satan does not want us to return to the Biblical method of Learning and Teaching from God’s Word in every subject and issue of Life. We will carry a yoke-breaking anointing into every endeavor where we pause to seek God and honor Him before entering into that area, that stronghold, that subject and/or that mountain.

I believe with all my heart that this is what God expects us to do. This is what He taught us to do. This is what we GET to do. So help us Almighty God! Help us boldly, courageously, yet humbly and with great love, rise into that place of authority that You have for each one of us as Your kings and priests, for Your Glory and Praise!

Can you hear Him remind us:

“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid[a] on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit[b] on earth will be permitted in heaven.

~ Jesus, Matthew 18:18 NLT

A1 S8 C5- C6 Standard of Weights and Measures & Counterfeiting

The Congress shall have Power To fix the Standard of Weights and Measures; To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States…”

~ A1 S8 C5- C6

This clause gave the power to Congress to fix the standard of weights and measures. As the colonies had each had their own standards previously, this was a necessary step toward them becoming a nation of states. Congress initially rejected the metric system as awkward in practice. The English system is more practical for business as we can divide things into halves and quarters instead of tens and hundreds. Congress later in 1866 authorized the metric system, but it never became widespread.

Congress also has the power to punish counterfeiting of United States securities and coins. This has gotten easier to monitor as our nation has increased its sophisticated methods to issue currency with metal strips, and other means to detect counterfeit money.

Isaiah 1:21-22 NIV says, “See how the faithful city has become a prostitute! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her—but now murderers! Your silver has become dross, your choice wine is diluted with water.”

God detests unequal weights and measures. He hates favoring either the rich or the poor. Money should be an inanimate object that simply helps us trade more easily. But when it’s mixed with mammon, that is avarice, greed, envy, jealousy, and covetousness, we fall as a nation. As revival increases, reformation should increase if we are faithful to seek God and obey His commands. May God have mercy on us and bring us into a place of integrity and the fear of God Almighty! In Jesus name, we pray, amen.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 NIV
