The Integrity of the Gospel

When the colonies-turned-states, said in their epic Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident” what did they mean? They said:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…(1)

They did not mean independent from God, because they ended this Declaration with an appeal to God and a covenant with each other to honor Him.

Samuel Adams at age 28 shared what many founders believed: “He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man. We must not conclude merely upon a man’s haranguing upon liberty, and using the charming sound, that he is fit to be trusted with the liberties of his country… The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people…”(2)

Samuel Adams clarified this statement in his Natural Rights of the Colonists as Christians, “These may be best understood by reading and carefully studying the institutes of the great Law Giver and Head of the Christian Church, which are to be found clearly written and promulgated in the New Testament.”(3)

The concept that “All men created Equal” is based in Galatians 3:28:

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

This scripture gives context to Romans 13:1-5:

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.

The Founders did not think that we should give power to any one who violated God’s law. This is why the next line of the Declaration of Independence says:

… that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights

This explains why Christians have a divine mandate to be involved in policy setting, to steward Liberty to the next generation (Proverbs 13:22), to obey the Dominion Mandate (Genesis 1:28 and Matthew 28:18-20) and to hold elected officials to the Law of God (Jeremiah 29:7 and Proverbs 14:34)

It doesn’t matter that LBJ pushed the 501 (C)(3) cages on us – come out of your cage! The door is now OPEN. Seeking the Lord for integrity in this hour is key to our Victory to Build His Kingdom and make disciples for His Glory. From the 1828, Integrity means “The entire, unimpaired state of anything, particularly of the mind; moral soundness or purity; incorruptness; uprightness; honesty. integrity comprehends the whole moral character, but has a special reference to uprightness in mutual dealings, transfers of property, and agencies for others.”

Our rights come from God Almighty so HONOR Him with your liberty. These are unalienable: Life, Liberty, Property and the pursuit of Happiness. Our rights and responsibilities are given to us by God Almighty, not government. The Founders were willing to defend themselves against the most mighty military power on Earth at that time so that “those yet to be born” (that’s US) would have the power of consent of the governed.

May God help us stop being tacit. May He be glorified in our nation once again. So help us Almighty God!

A4S2C3 Recognizing Personhood

[No Person held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in Consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, but shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such Service or Labour may be due.]*   ~A4S2C3

This clause was no longer valid after the 13th amendment. After 1808 there was to be no more importation of slaves. President Thomas Jefferson signed this into law. In the Constitution, it was established that in the slave states, for every 50,000 slaves that state would only get 30,000 of their population counted toward representation until they set the slaves free.

Frederick Douglas emphatically explained that this was not a pro-slavery document, but anti-slavery as it absolutely encouraged the slave states to grant their slaves full citizenship to increase their representation in Congress.

And some of the northern states, the slaves had already been emancipated and were voting in five of the states. The framers were careful not to mention the word slave in the Constitution so that they could work toward ending this horrible scorge on our nation.

The Fugitive Slave Law was a horrible setback and is a dire warning to us in our efforts to end abortion. We have a small window before us and should be working diligently to protect every person, pre-born or born, to protect their personhood so that we do not fall into worse judgment.

Father, grant America repentance from the horrible bloodshed the Church has ignored and become complacent to. Help us protect every person as we are each made in Your image and are precious to You. You have a future and a hope for each one of us and have gifted us uniquely to glorify You. We love You so much and we honor You and bless Your holy name. We want no other king, but king Jesus!
