Gaining the Mind of Christ
Gaining the Mind of Christ in Education using Jesus’ Teaching Techniques
We can learn much from what is called the Socratic method of teaching, but my favorite methodology is the Teaching Techniques of Jesus. So let’s talk about this!
You may draw from famous/respected writers at large, finding them by searching for the voices of what ever topic you are studying and begin to learn from them, know them and then build upon their work. Not bad, you are learning how to think and in this age of indoctrination that we are crawling out of, that is a good place to start. In fact it is where Jesus started in Matthew 16:13-23:
13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
We see here that Jesus asked, as the “Son of Man,” who do men say that I am?
They tell Him what they are hearing in the town square:
- John the Baptist
- Elijah
- Jeremiah
- one of the prophets
Then Jesus asks them to answer this question in their own words. This is when Peter has an open Heaven from God, realized and vocalized, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus seizes this learning opportunity to pinpoint:
“Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”
So from this point on, do you think that Peter and the other disciples could recognize that some revelation comes from God and some does not?
Jesus goes on to share some inner circle revelation:
… “upon this rock” (revelation that He is the Christ, the “Son of the living God” not only the “son of Man” that He originally stated – which is TRUE. Jesus is the Son of Man AND the Son of God!) He further discloses:
“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
This is heavy-revy stuff. So strategy-shifting that it seems like they miss it. They seem to not fathom how much they have all been invited to be co-laborers with God Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth…
Then He begins to teach them Truth, after He has invited them to totally shift their thinking. But Peter obviously does not get it yet, as verses 21-23 display:
From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
We haven’t even gotten out of the same chapter and Peter has gone back to earthly thinking.
In the CJB it says that Jesus “turned his back on” Peter…
God help us! (And I am the same way, unless I intentionally and continually abide in Christ.)
Can we create a pattern from this to use in our classrooms:
1. Gather what men are saying, choosing excellent, True and original documents
2. Go to the Word of God to what He says about this
3. Begin to apply the Biblical worldview as it applies to our projects and lives
4. Plan a strategic application that will glorify God and bless our families, churches and communities.
But then, and I think that this is the most important step, do not hinder God and His Word by telling Him what is going to happen but keep our minds on Christ, discerning the times and His will…
Father, help us continually abide in You. Help us to hear Your still small Voice and follow You. Help us to cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captive to the obedience of Christ, in His Name we pray, Amen.

A4S4 Republican Form of State Government
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. ~A4S4
Cleon Skousen explained that “A republican form of government is one in which the people are governed by freely elected representatives. It is also presumed to be one in which political power is divided, balanced, and limited.” This is based on Isaiah 33:22! (1)
James Iredell said the United States shall guaranty to every state in the Union a republican form of government. (2)
James Madison explained in Federalist 43 that “in a confederacy founded on republican principles, and composed of republican members, the superintendent government ought clearly to possess authority to defend the system against aristocratic or monarchial inventions… Who can say what experiments may be produced by the caprice of particular States, by the ambition of enterprising leaders, or by the intrigues and influence of foreign powers? … The only restriction imposed on them is that they shall not exchange republican for anti-republican constitutions.
“May it not happen… that the minority of citizens may become a majority of persons, by the accession of alien residents… or of those whom the Constitution of the State has not admitted to the rights of suffrage?” (3)
Alexander Hamilton explained in Federalist 28, “Should such emergencies at any time happen under the national government, there could be no remedy but force… An insurrection, whatever may be it’s immediate cause, eventually endangers all government… If on the contrary, the insurrection should pervade a whole State, or a principal part of it, the employment of a different kind of force might become unavoidable..”
Father, we appeal to You as our Judge of the whole Earth. Give us justice and mercy we humbly pray, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

What can we do now?
These few months before the primaries are most important to our Liberty and to the future of our children. These elections determine whether we have people in office who truly honor God or have those who simply say that they do. May we be good men, who give an inheritance to our children’s children (Proverbs 13:22). This is impossible without securing their future with truly Godly leaders. To do so, vote for men who align with Exodus 18:21:
- Able
- Fear God
- Love Truth
- Hate covetous
Make sure that:
- You are registered to vote. Most states’ voting registration ends 30 days before their primaries, for SLC the Voting Registration deadline is: July 20, 2026
- VOTE! The Primary Election is August 18, with early voting 8/8/to 8/15.
- Register your friends, those who fear God, and teach them to vote:
- Pro-life
- Pro-Biblical Worldview
- Pro-small government (God is Jehovah Jireh – not the government!)
- Pro-family
Father, help us to honor You and obey Your Word for our Civic Duties. We trust You with the miracles that we need to pass Liberty to our children’s children. Thank You for Your faithfulness, kindness and patience toward us. May we glorify and honor You and be a sheep nation once again, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen!
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 NIV
