What is Economic Integrity?
Why Integrity and Christian Self-government are the Foundation for a Prosperous Economy
Let’s begin by looking at a “dollar”. Go ahead – go get your hands on a dollar bill. See on the bottom where it says “ONE DOLLAR?” Is this True? Is it really worth one dollar?
Well, the word “dollar” literally means one ounce of silver. It was originally called a Joachimthal and was minted in Joachimthal, Bohemia, in the Czech Republic, during the Middle Ages. The Joachimthal mint made a one-ounce silver coin that was widely used and accepted at that time as a very good coin. The coin began to be called “Joachimthaler” after the mint and then was shortened to “thaler” and then to “dollar.” The question is: Is ONE DOLLAR worth one dollar? No, it is not. You cannot presently take a ONE DOLLAR bill to buy an ounce of .9 silver. I will explain why not later, but let’s look more at that ONE DOLLAR while you still have it out.
Do you see where ONE DOLLAR says, “THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE”? (I know, I can hardly read it either!) Now, what does this mean? Back when Joachimthal was making the real dollar, it did not need to say that on it. It had inherent worth. It was real, honest money. But something happens in societies, over and over. It happened in Israel (Is 1:22). It happened in Rome. And it is happening presently in almost every modern country in the world. If our dollar did not say “THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE”, would you let people give it to you in exchange for your hard work? Not if you want a real payment! It is just a piece of paper.
Are you getting the impression that there might be something “dishonest” about our money? It is dishonest. And now that you know that, you want to use money honestly, don’t you? It is called integrity. Having integrity and being willing to sacrifice for it is the hallmark of our Christian nation. (Excerpted from Economic Integrity)
At Teaching His Story, we will be learning Economics online, with Economic Integrity, then American Government for the rest of the year so that we can get our finances in order, understand financial issues and intentionally weigh in on policy setting to honor and bless the LORD God Almighty and help others live victoriously and make good, godly decisions.
Economic Integrity is a six week course offered online 6-7:30 pm EST from 8/11- 9/15. These live teachings will be offered on zoom. Students will post on “Band” (like a facebook group but is private) and comment on others’ posts each week.
Economic Integrity’s Overview: This is a thoroughly practical Christian Economics course. Every Christian needs to develop an understanding of these principles to know what practices will build freedom, prosperity and justice. Then we as a culture will know what practices to embrace and which to refuse, which will bring success and prosperity and which will bring poverty and despair.
This course gives you a vision of personal economic responsibility as a Christian. We will define economics and explain it from the Word of God and from His Story. We will challenge you, the reader, to take this knowledge and develop your finances in such a way that God is glorified and you are victorious as a steward of God’s blessings. We challenge you to take that victory and share it with others.
Sign up for Economic Integrity here. Pay $60 and Type Economics in the Comment box. The Syllabus will be sent to you, along with the links to join us on Zoom and on Band. The Syllabus will include assignments for the high schoolers. We recommend including your younger children. This makes for great family discussions and helps you to redeem time so that you can run your home, business and ministries also!

What are the four fundamental economic Freedoms that our Founders understood (and we have almost lost.)
What was the difference between the French Revolution and the American and why must we know this to survive as a nation?
Is government intervention into a country’s economics ever legitimate and if so, when?
What were some of the founders’ views on economics, business and government?
BONUS BONUS: Another extra class on Economics – the Biblical Worldview of Entrepreneurship:
But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:10b-12
Let’s talk about it!

Constitutional Conversation A5S1 Part 2, Amending the Constitution through the States
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three-fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress ~A5S1
Alexander Hamilton, in Federalist 85, explains: “By the fifth article of the plan, the Congress will be obliged “on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the States… to call a convention for proposing amendments, which shall be valid, to all intents and purposes, as part of the Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the States, or by conventions in three fourths thereof.” The words of this article are peremptory. The Congress “shall call a convention.” Nothing in this particular is left to the discretion of that body. And of consequence, all the declamation about the disinclination to a change vanishes in air. Nor however difficult it may be supposed to unite two thirds or three fourths of the State legislatures, in amendments which may affect local interests, can there be any room to apprehend any such difficulty in a union on points which are merely relative to the general liberty or security of the people. We may safely rely on the disposition of the State legislatures to erect barriers against the encroachments of the national authority.”(1)
In 2013, Mark Levin wrote Liberty Amendments, offering amendments to the Constitution that would restore the original intent of the Constitution. In this same year, Michael Farris outlined the Convention of States restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.
Father, help us return to equality under law!
