This course on Ancient History is World History I. It begins “In the Beginning” and traces through the Bible as the main resource to study what happened from @ 4000 BC until the Reformation. We will use a timeline, extensive maps, and use resources that dovetail with the Bible to study the people groups in different nations.
We will use a resource that my children loved: What the Bible is All About: Reproducible Maps, Charts, Timelines and Illustrations. My daughter (who is now homeschooling her children) says that she learned the most about the Bible from this class. We’ll see the actual timeline of the books (the Bible is not in chronological order!) We will study the kings of Judah and Israel (some have the same names!) This study will take some confusion out of our life long pursuit of being Biblically literate and give a wonderful understanding of Ancient History. We will use the Bible itself as the core of History. We will also use Streams of Civilization, Volume I, Third Edition, to study the different nations in more depth.
