Bible Worldview Education is Indispensable
We are are the middle of a deep dive into the definition of Education from the 1828 Dictionary. We cherish this version as it was compiled and written at the height of when America reasoned Biblically:
EDUCA’TION, noun [Latin educatio.] The bringing up, as of a child, instruction; formation of manners. education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.
This week we are focusing on the section that says:

The word indispensable may seem like an overstatement today when we, as a culture, acquiesce to our Bible and prayer being taken out of our schools. This explains why 85% of Christian parents have their children in public schools. But our forefathers refused to bow to the pressure of the day, pledging their Lives, their Fortunes and their Sacred Honor to obey God Almighty and His Word. Let’s look at this word at a time when Americans were willing to sacrifice for our Faith…
INDISPENS’ABLE, adjective Not to be dispensed with; that cannot be omitted, remitted, or spared; absolutely necessary or requisite. Air and water are indispensable to the life of man. Our duties to God and to our fellow men are of indispensable obligation.
Well this is convicting and explains why our forefathers were willing to defend their liberties against the most mighty military power on Earth at that time, that Jesus alone would be their King. Hence their battle cry, “No other king, but King Jesus!”
His Word is “Not to be dispensed with.”… It “cannot be omitted, remitted, or spared; absolutely necessary or requisite.” Just as “Air and water are indispensable to the life of man…” so “… our duties to God and to our fellow men are of indispensable obligation.”
In 1790, well after the Constitutional Convention, when you would think the Framers felt they had created the perfect gift to the next generation, Samuel Adams was conversing with his cousin, John Adams. After reflecting on how to best create a society that would ensure the most stability for their children, Samuel Adams shared this sage insight:
“Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age, by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, of inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity and universal philanthropy, and, in subordination to these great principles, the love of their country; of instructing them in the art of Self-Government, without which they never can act a wise part the government of societies, great or small; in short, of leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system.”
~ Samuel Adams
Noah Webster believed that, “The education of youth [is] an employment of more consequence than making laws and preaching the gospel, because it lays the foundation on which both law and gospel rest for success.
~ Noah Webster, 1788
What most of my students across the nations struggle with is that most of us have been raised in education systems that have dispensed with the Word of God. So now we need to learn how to incorporate and integrate new habits of Biblical Reasoning.
We will strategize and help you plan how to incorporate and integrate new habits of Biblical Reasoning into the education of your students and children. Here are some options for you:
~ I will be offering Pillars again this year from Tuesday, June 23 from 6-7:30 PM EST through August 4th. These seven weeks will be transformative in our thinking about Politics, Economics, Education, Religion and Social Issues (PEERS). The PEERS test was developed by Dan Smithwick, Nehemiah Institute. It measures more than if we love Jesus and if we read the Bible but rather are we reasoning from the Bible with God’s heart and His will in these areas. We’ll talk more about this in the coming weeks.
~ The Biblical Worldview of American Government & Economics will be offered starting August 11th.
~ I have now connected a community for our Teaching His Story Community. For only $10 per month, you can receive these articles AND discuss them with believers like you, who are not only learning to read the Bible and are praying but are also seeking the Lord but as to how He wants to reform our nations for His glory. As the Lord is visiting us with revival, let’s work together to make the most of it!
More information is coming! These courses help tremendously to steward our American Christian Heritage, as we recover the Gospel purpose for Education. The most fun is to simply read the Word daily, when you wake up &/or when you are preparing to go to bed. Hey! Doesn’t that remind you of Deuteronomy 6:7:
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
This is not something that we have to do, but rather that we get to do! The Word is a river of Life. My husband and I are just two of millions of examples of what God can do when a people make Him their Lord. He is the Pioneer and the Perfecter of our Faith, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Bright and Morning Star, the King of kings, the Lord of lords and our Way Maker!

A3S2C2 Original Jurisdiction
In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make. ~ A3S2C2
Alexander Hamilton explained, “Public ministers of every class are the immediate representatives of their sovereigns. All questions in which they are concerned are so directly connected with the public peace, that, as well as for the preservation of this as out of respect to the sovereignties they represent, it is both expedient and proper that such questions should be submitted in the first instance to the highest judicatory of the nation. Though consuls have not in strictness a diplomatic character, yet, as they are the public agents of the nations to which they belong, the same observation is in a great measure applicable to them. (1)
“… In cases in which state might happen to be a party, it would ill suit its dignity to be turned over to an inferior tribunal.” (2)
In Federalist 80 Hamilton clarified, “The particular powers of the federal judiciary, as marked out in the Constitution… are all conformable to the principles which ought to have governed the structure of that department and which are necessary to the perfection of the system. If some partial inconveniences should appear to be connected with the incorporation of any of them into the plan, it ought to be recollected that the national legislature will have ample authority to make such exceptions and to prescribe such regulations as will be calculated to obviate or remove these inconveniences.” (3)
Father, You are the Supreme Judge of the World. To You we appeal, to restore the original intent of our Constitution. Help us to know Your Word and Your will that we may teach the next generation how to please and honor You in our self-government, in our families and in our nations, in Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen!
