Teaching His Story

Rededicating America to God

As we focus on rededicating America to God, this event gives me great hope. I immediately signed up for it – and what a deal! I know at least three of my Biblical Worldview friends are coming to Turning Point Education’s Educators’ Summit. The focus is: Courage in Our Convictions: Cultivating Clarity in Chaos. It is June 16th – 19.

I get to lead one of the breakout sessions. We’ve been given the assignment to host a “discussion for homeschooling parents on how to incorporate Biblical worldview and spiritual formation into their homeschooling curriculum.” Doesn’t this sound like FUN! Whether you are a veteran homeschooler &/or Biblical Worldview enthusiast or are only considering homeschooling, you are welcome!

My daughter Juli is coming too. (All my girls, come on!) So we will be able to share generationally how faithful God is when we commit our way to Him. Get more information here.

Let’s join in on May 17th to pray for America’s rededication to God. We need Him even more now!

Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

Everyone has heard about the Battle of Lexington, but few have heard the story from Pastor Jonas Clark, whose dearly beloved men were murdered in front of his church. About 800 of the king’s troops marched onto the green. Here is the account from Pastor Jonas:

“…The second of these officers, about this time, fired a pistol towards  the militia, as they were dispersing. The foremost, who was within a few yards of our men, brandishing his sword, and then pointing towards them, with a loud voice said, to the troops, “Fire! By God, fire!” which was instantly followed by a discharge of arms from the said troops, succeeded by a very heavy and close fire upon our party, dispersing, so long as any of them were within reach. Eight were left dead upon the ground. Ten were wounded. The rest of the company, through divine goodness, were (to a miracle) preserved unhurt in this murderous action… A cloud of witnesses, whose veracity cannot be justly disputed, upon oath have declared, in the most express and positive terms, ‘that the British troops fired first…’(1)

“Having thus vanquished the party in Lexington, the troops marched on for Concord, to execute their orders, in destroying the stores belonging to the colony, deposited there… In the retreat of the king’s troops…  they ravaged and plundered, as they had opportunity…”(2)

Here is how this pastor ended his message a year later in 1776, “May that God, who is a God of righteousness and salvation, still appear for us, go forth with our armies, tread down our enemies, and cleanse and avenge our innocent blood. And may we be prepared, by a general repentance and thorough reformation, for His gracious and powerful interposition in our behalf; and then may we see the displays of His power and glory for our salvation. Which God of His infinite mercy grant, for His mercy’s sake in Christ Jesus. Amen.”(3)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 NIV
