Are Confrontational Politics Biblical?
I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration with family and friends. We had a very Florida Christmas in the backyard of my daughter’s home with my adult children and our grandchildren. It was Heaven to me. God has blessed John and I beyond what we deserve.
Last year I attended a training conference that I have labeled in my mind as Confrontational Politics. I came home challenged but really wanting to hear from the Lord. It’s so tempting to want to be nice to everyone, and we should be nice, right? (Do a word search in your Bible for Nice v Kind.) Are Confrontational Politics Biblical? As I began praying about this a lot of scriptures began flooding my mind. Here are several:
Jesus called:
~ Herod a “fox” Luke 13:32:
He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’
~ Scribes and Pharisees “ hypocrites” Matthew 23:13-15
But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves…”
~ Scribes and Pharisees “whitewashed tombs” Matthew 23:27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.”
You know that He said a LOT more to them, but you get the point. There is a time that we cannot live people-pleasing lives when so much is at stake in the future for our next generation.
Jesus was willing to flip tables to correct leaders who had turned His Father’s House of Prayer into a den of thieves:
“Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” ~ Mat. 21:12-13 NKJV.
Paul addressed Roman officers in Acts 16:37, “But Paul said to the officers: ‘They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out.’”
Jesus said in Matthew 10:22 NKJV, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

This explains why are Founding Fathers were involved in politics and we are not!

A2S2C1 The President’s Principal Officers

The president has the Constitutional authority to choose members of his cabinet who have two responsibilities: to administer the affairs of his department, and to collectively serve as an advisory council to the president. The president however, has final authority as in the case when President Lincoln’s cabinet all voted no and he voted yes. He then said, “The ayes have it.” Of course he was the only aye!
The original cabinet officers were for the departments of: State, Treasury, War, and Justice. Ones that have been added since the Constitution was ratified are the departments of: Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, Energy, and Education.
Many Americans do not realize that the Federal Department of Education was not formed until 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. Our system of education has gotten more and more government controlled and the quality has plummeted in comparison with other nations ever since.
Teaching our children the mighty deeds of God and how to reason from His word and obey Him is Biblically a parental responsibility and is the very pathway back to America’s blessing.
We presently have a president who is willing to dissolve the department of education, thereby saving Americans $80 billion a year! If this is coupled with also repealing the 16th amendment, that is individual income tax, which is not the original intent of the Constitution, parents will have an opportunity to use this money to educate their own children. This could be the greatest tool for reclaiming our Biblical heritage, making disciples of our nation and being good men who give an inheritance to our children’s children.
May God restore the Church’s understanding of parental responsibility. In Jesus mighty name, we pray, amen.
