Takeaways from Turning Point Summits

Still wondering what to think about Charlie Kirk and Turning Point? I’d like to share my vantage point after attending the TP Education Summit with my daughter and seeing my grandson attend the Chapter Leadership and Student Action Summit. Our team loved it. I have a few takeaways to share.

I decided to enroll in the Turning Point Academy after having excellent training from different organizations and universities. I shared some of my deep convictions about Biblical Worldview philosophies and methods. They welcomed me open-armed, and helped me refine our outreach. At the event our teaching business was awarded this plaque. Truly “Children are not a distraction from more important work: they are the most important work.” (CS Lewis) Amen!

We were greeted that first moment at the Summit by a dear friend and leader in their Turning Point Faith organization for Pastors. He has been helping, encouraging and equipping us in our local pro-life outreach. Happy to meet his wife and family!

Another blessing was to see the pictures that my grandson was sending from the CLS/SAS. The first one was dear to us as the older generation who have been praying and fasting for our nation, crying out to God for the youngest generation, binding and loosing for God Almighty’s Grace and Glory to outweigh and overcome our huge debt, the trafficking, the Fentanyl crisis, gender confusion, etc. May the Lord forgive us for our apathy and complacency in neglecting the stewardship of our Biblical Worldview Economic and Civic policy-setting responsibilities. May we each now rise up to be “A good person [who] leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren”! Yes, Lord, we love You. CAUSE us to obey You.

Another takeaway was the nod to stand strong in a battle that has kind of been hoisted on us. We enrolled the high schoolers of our little beloved co-op, through Christian Halls to a “Christian” university which has been a stronghold of DEI, woke philosophies and some mediocre or flat out incorrect and anti-Biblical content. It has been like pushing a rope to get them to get out very alarming content. But now it looks like we really are making progress. We have a “Trust but Verify” kind of hope. I fear God in continuing to expose the students to some of the content. And yet we are going through it together. We are living the search for Biblical principles and convictions while we seek to bring Truth and solutions to a Christian culture that has been invaded and supplanted. We have prayed together, sought God’s will together, cried together and grown in quiet resolve that this is where God Almighty has planted us to reform, restore and rebuild for His glory.

May the Lord anoint us to turn this “college into a conservative stronghold” for the next set of children. May they be shielded from what we have had to wade through. I pray that they will bring in a higher level of purpose and ministry so that the next generation may know Him and enjoy Him forever.

One of my favorite moments was meeting a young lady from California. I asked her what she liked the most about the event. She answered right away that she realizes now that she is not alone. What a blessing for each of these students as they wade through these anti-Christ institutions. Many are persecuted for their faith. Many are taking low grades for their work as they refuse to compromise. How precious to remember Elijah when he felt all alone and God asked him, “ ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’ Then he said, ‘I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have abandoned Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they have sought to take my life.’” then God told him that He had 7000 others who had not compromised.

This precious young woman was one of the 7000 at TP USA who now know that they too are not alone.

Let’s keep praying for all the younger generations that God Almighty is preparing for His glory, that they might know Him and the Power of His Resurrection. May we once again be the nation of “good” men who leave an inheritance to their children and grand-children.

A1 S9 C1 “Importation of Slaves”

The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a Tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person  ~ A1 S9 C1

This clause was in anticipation of ending slavery. Did you know that Thomas Jefferson put a “slavery grievance” in the original draft of the Declaration of Independence?

“He [King George III] has waged cruel war against human nature itself, violating it’s most sacred rights of life & liberty in the persons of a distant people who never offended him, captivating & carrying them into slavery in another hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their transportation thither.”

George  Mason warned prophetically at the Constitutional Convention, concerning slavery, “This infernal traffic originated in the avarice of British merchants. The British government constantly checked the attempts of Virginia to put a stop to it… As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be  in this.”(1)

The Founders went on to prohibit the expansion of Slavery into the new states by passing the Northwest Ordinance and prohibited importation of new slaves by 1808 in the Constitution.

In fact, during the American Revolution, blacks and whites fought together for our liberty from the tyranny of King George III. Peter Salem was a hero at Bunker Hill and fought as a minuteman.  Prince Whipple and Oliver Cromwell were two of America’s heroes in the famous picture of Crossing the Delaware with George Washington. James Armistead was the spy who helped make possible the decisive victory at Yorktown. If you are not familiar with these epic black patriots, read the book The Colored Patriots of the American Revolution by William C. Nell (1855.)

We know that skin color has nothing to do with bravery and courage. Surely we are made from one blood (“ … and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation…” ~Acts 17:26). Surely we are one in Christ (“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” ~ Galatians 3:28).

Father, bring us into unity in Christ once again, for Your glory, Amen!

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 NIV
